About Nick Ring …….

Nick Ring Leisure was established in 2005 and specialises in delivering professional group tennis coaching to all ages – at a number of carefully selected UK Tennis venues.

Previously to setting up Nick Ring Leisure, Nick was the head tennis professional at Windmill Hill Tennis & Golf Academy in East Sussex for 12 years, one of Europe’s premier tennis academies, where he taught 3,000 – 4,000 tennis players of all ages each year. He was also, in part, responsible for establishing and developing the tennis programme for the highly regarded Mark Warner organisation.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy and belief is that the most effective approach to gain improvement in tennis is by keeping the teaching simple and not overloading and complicating the coaching techniques. We found that by breaking down the instruction of a specific shot, and offering one or two simple corrective techniques, positive results came easily and goals were achieved quickly.

Nick Ring Leisure’s philosophy has been recognised by a number of large sporting organisations and Nick Ring has written many coaching articles for premier tennis magazines, has presented quick fix coaching clinics at large symposiums for example, The Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) has appeared a number of times on the BBC holiday programme and has supported Wilson Sporting Goods at large events, such as the Davis Cup matches.

May half term is also very popular time for a school tennis tour which offers a mid season check up on tactical areas of your team development ready for the remaining part of the season.

October half term is also a great option to reflect on the past season, and to look into and refine the student’s technique and tactical development As part of your school tennis tour, we will try to arrange practice matches against other UK schools or tennis clubs who may be on the resort at the same time.

Weekends are a very flexible option and very popular with schools/colleges, as they offer great flexibility throughout the year and are not dependant on school holidays dates.  Doubles tactics and matchplay seem to be the most popular programme content of our weekend tours.
